One of the best and affordable local organic and natural hair and skin care products I’ve always loved is Zen Nutrients. To be honest, I had a little bit of an unpleasant encounter with their marketing person regarding their blog promotions way before. Regardless though, I have to give credit to their outstanding array of products which is readily available now in Echo Stores, LandMark and SM. They have everything from hair care to those nifty health savers such as headache, body pain, skin irritation to aromatherapies. It’s a local brand loving natural and healing ingredients such as virgin coco oil, ginger, lavender, etc.
All ingredients are of course purely organic. (Although not entirely vegan, they have cow’s milk.) It is said that the company’s formulation has a maximum of only 10 ingredients – this means less allergic reactions that could lead to scalp diseases and hair loss. It helps that these products wash off quickly and completely with any kind of water. (You can read upon this article that would explain why SLES in shampoos are bad.)
The Zen Nutrients Gugo Strengthening Shampoo Review
Let me start with their hair product- The Zen Nutrients Gugo Strengthening Shampoo. During my pregnancy days, I had falling hair. So this one was really handy. The packaging comes in plastic bottles and the conditioner comes in a pump. Which always malfunction whenever I use it. (It’s weird I bought twice of this already.) I love the scent. Organic shampoos serve a dual purpose, they are instant aromatherapies as well! It didn’t lather that much. But after drying my hair, it felt squeaky clean. Although the mixture makes color-dyed hair fade much faster. Although the hair falling stopped, my hair somehow has become dry.
Ingredients: Gugo Bark and Extract, Tea Tree Extract, SLES, Citric Acid, Salt, Purified Spring Water.
There are 13 variants of the organic shampoos which I am switching from time to time- this includes Aloe Vera, Bali Spa, Calamansi, Coconut; Green Tea, Gugo, Honey, Lemongrass, Moringa, Olive, Rosemary and Patchouli, Tea Tree, White Tea and Green Bamboo. Then there’s 11 variants of organic conditioners, including Aloe Vera, Calamansi, Green Tea, Gugo, Honey and Coconut, Lavender and Sheanut and Chocolate, and Tea Tree. There are, by the way, milder versions: the Mild & Gentle Baby Shampoo, and the Gentle Baby Conditioner, which has calendula oil, virgin coconut oil and botanical extracts.
Will I repurchase?
Perhaps. They are somehow cheaper compared to other organic shampoos. It’s a good alternative if you rotate shampoos like me. Their shampoos are good for clarifying that nasty build up in our hair from all the chemicals and processes we subject them too. Think Hair Detox.
Although I wouldn’t recommend this for color-treated hair though because I think the color fades too fast. (Or was I just imagining) If you want nifty clean hair minus the chemicals, this one’s for you! Give that crowning glory some good natural break.:)
