Lipstick addicts, cosmetic lovers- brace yourselves as I share to you one of the best organic and safe cosmetic breakthrough line I’ve discovered that is just oh so worthy of praise. Finally, ladies and gentlemen the Benecos Cosmetic Line, a German-based natural cosmetics provider arrived in the beautiful shores of the Philippines!! Thanks to my favorite natural makeup provider Canary Cosmetics for sending me these awesome goodies to try!
Who is Benecos?
Benecos (meaning “GOOD” aka “GOOD MAKEUP”) was founded in Germany at the end of 2008 making high-quality yet affordable natural cosmetics available to ALL. An eco-conscious company who believes “Less is more.” This brand is so underrated in the world of makeup blogging, because of their minimalistic approach to Advertising Campaigns. They only gained popularity in the states and in Europe, basically through word-of-mouth marketing. Despite that humble fact, Benecos is BDIH-certified. Bam! That’s the pioneer Natural Cosmetics Certification Body in Germany! I can’t wait any longer, let me start with their awesome natural lipstick, because for the past few weeks (almost a month already), I’ve been literally wearing them everyday!
“Lipsticks don’t ONLY contains the dangerous toxic ingredient called “LED” but recent studies showed that it has 8-9 other harmful metals as well! From cadmium to aluminum!” And to think we ingest 6-10 pounds per year! Read the entire article from NYTimes here.”
Product Rave #1: Benecos Lipstick Review in Soft Coral
Canary Cosmetics was kind enough to ask me what sample colors do I want to try. I opted for a neutral one like “Soft Coral”. It’s a soft, slightly shimmery peach tint that gave my lips that plump healthy no-makeup look! It’s actually ideal for smoky eyes, or for everyday use! The mixture felt “plumping” and “moisturizing” from all the organic beeswax. It felt very light on the lips, not that buttery, but more of creamy-like texture. It’s like substituting your usual whipping cream with a healthier version, like an avocado smoothie! It’s still yummy, just minus the guilt!! (My foodie thoughts are just uncontrollable sometimes when I wear on healthy cosmetics!:)
The color blended well on my skin tone. I’m medium light to fair and on warmer undertones lately. I actually look like I don’t wear lipstick at all. Very natural looking.
The finish is not quite glossy, but not as high shine as a full gloss too. Just perfect for everyday use. The color seemed to last for 5-8 hours. But of course it isn’t as long-lasting as other balm stain lippies I’ve tried. Fair enough, it doesn’t fade or leave that embarrassing halo on your lips– don’t fret!! 😀
This color is versatile on different skin tones though! To demonstrate my point I’ve taken a picture of me, my sister and her friend who were 2 shades darker skin tone than me. I prettified these two young ladies with Benecos stuff and double-swiped swiped the Soft Coral Lipstick for that nice sexy definition. Don’t these olive-toned beach babes look hot in Soft Coral? (They’re also wearing the Benecos Purple Eyeshadow Natural Duo and the white and purple Benecos Kajal Natural Liners!)
On myself, I tried double swiping it and it sort of became much redder on my lips after a few minutes. I’m not sure if it’s because of the PH levels of my skin. (I’ve been on a detox and juicing diet on this one or probably it’s the sunny weather.)
To better show you a fresh swipe of the Soft Coral, took a phone pic yesterday. #nofilter #puresunlight
The price is fair enough Php790 for its quality and long lasting power. But, of course, my most favorite part is it’s Paraben Free, Cruelty Free, Gluten Free, No GMO, No Synthetic Dyes, No Synthetic Fragrances, unlike other “Natural-claiming” cosmetics! Wearing something as GUILT-FREE as this, is worth the price to pay. Instead of buying all the cult brands that are super expensive, (Oh Mac, Dior, Bobbi Brown, I’ve worshipped you guys before but forgive me I have to break up with you guys) , I would rather invest on healthy ones. Besides, statistics shows that the average woman ingests lipstick 14 times on average per day! That’s 6-10 pound of lipstick per year!! Can you believe that?
Product Rave #2: Benecos Natural Kajal Eyeliner
Benecos sent me two colors: White and Purple (my super favorites!) This one goes to my “Most-Used and Abused Makeup List!”
I love Benecos’ formula!! To me it’s VERY VERY important to have a natural formula for eye products because my eyes are very sensitive, especially the waterline. A little bit of chemical makes it all itchy and sometimes might cause infection. (I remember trying out this drugstore brand and the next day, I had earned a sty!)The other frustration with white liners is they either look too glittery on the eye or I look like I have morning glory because they just don’t blend well, even with a point-brush (LOL) Some waterproof formulas I’ve tried usually just fall off easily too! This one just oh so GLIDES SMOOTHLY and sticks to you the entire day! Awesome!
Benecos Natural Kajal Eyeliner in White
My sister is a little bit “CHINITA” than me (she has more Asian and smaller eyes ). The white liner in her waterline really did wonders opening her eyes more and brighten her face!
Benecos Natural Kajal Eyeliner in Purple
The cream liners were both intense and don’t drag or pull. The purple and blue will definitely give you that awesome edgy look. The black ones will definitely be awesome to create smokey eyes.
I love that both liners last all day and night! Unaffected by tears and sweat! haha. Make sure to have a good makeup remover though to take them out at night.
Final Verdict. My love for eyeliners grew each day when I came across these beauties! Liners give that eye definition and depth. A swipe of color on your upper lid or lower lid really does wonders and adds to the fun, don’t you think?? Reasonably priced for Php495, I would definitely get more of this high-quality eyeliners! Here are more color options that I would really like to try soon!
Product Rave: Benecos Natural Duo Eye Shadow
I don’t know how Canary Cosmetics figured out, but I’m addicted to Purple Eyeshadows. Although I don’t use them everyday of course. I just love the glam it adds up to my face during occasions. Packaging is very simple, nothing fancy, very light and perfect for travel! I just really wish they’d come up with larger multi palettes like Pixi’s.
Since these babies arrived while I was on beach vacation, I tried wearing them on broad daylight. (I usually don’t wear eyeshadows in the beach, because I felt it’s a bit too much hehe). But what I love about this is that it’s very light and not too intense. It actually shows off a matte finish and blends easily in the skin. You can build up color if you want an intensified look at night.
In this picture, I’m wearing it with the Benecos Kajal White Liner and a bit of the purple liner at the edge.
Another indoor shot:
Benecos, you own my heart. BDIH certified, this brand has a halo on! Eco-conscious, cruelty-free, vegan. Another brand to really rave about!
Where to buy in the Philippines?
You can shop online at Canary Cosmetics. (If you’re lucky you could still get your perfect shade. They usually run out of stock pretty fast!) I really hope they bring more of these healthy cosmetics in the Philippines soon!
